Hi,
Grandson just bought a 30/30 Contender barrel and I haven't loaded for a 30/30 in years. I will be using 125 grain bullets, What powder is good for this?
Thanks in advance
Doug

H4895 has worked very well in our 30/30’s with 125 gr. bullets.

I've used W-748 in both the Sierra gamekings and the Nosler BT's in 125 gr. I use IMR 3031 for both bullets in the 150 gr weight.

If you will be using a Pistol barrel I would get IMR 4198. It is the suggested powder in the Sierra manual. I used it with my fist Contender barrel which was a 10" 30-30 Win. with 125 -150 gr with great success. For a rife barrel IMR 3031 is a real good powder.

I've had good luck with RL7 and 110 gn bullets (Barnes and Hornady) in a 14" contender using published Speer data as a starting point.
