Has anyone tried any of the new .355 legend bullets in the .357
Magnum or maximum? That new 170 gr. Hornady .355 looks an awful lot like the old .358 180 SSP.
Not exactly but this might help. We use .357 bullets in Brenda’s .35 Whelen. Loads are as light as the book allows (for once I did not experiment)
Despite the .358 bore, accuracy is surprisingly good. Not bench rest quality, but easily 1.5 inches at 100 yards, multiple times. I am frankly shocked. So, considering the Ruger Blackhawk Convertible is using the same bullet size difference you are wondering about, It would probably work good enough. I would suspect not special but workable especially with a longish bullet.
Wandering myself about the max or the 357 Herrett. Maybe someone will try them.
