Well, the long road to recovery just got a lot better! I got to go to the range today for the first time since June. Packed up my three newest builds along with a 223 APS XP and me and my son headed to Buckeye early this morning. Stapled targets, set up bags and rests, settled in and fired the first round. Nice slow easy squeeze and bang, first shot on it's way to the target. Felt good and pulled up the spottting scope and!!!!! Could not see a hole in that great big white target with a little dot in the middle. Utter disbelief I fired a second round and!!!! Again no hole in the target. I looked at my son and asked him how he was shooting and the response back was " I didn't touch paper with three shots. ". After shaking my head and muttering a few not so nice ph rases I hear my son askking me if I moved the scopes around I remarked NO all I did was mount them on the new guns and the APS 223 back in june before my surgery. His look said it all, guess who forgot to bore sight them 5 shots and that was the end of my first trip back to shooting, it was still great to get out and burn a little bit of powder. Look like my afternoon will be spent bore sighing z few XP's .
** I just bet there are two little 6.5's laying side by sided in that big mound of dirt behind the target, cause even though no paper was harmed that 6.5 Apache just feels like and looks like it is a shooter. **
Niteman. No laughing
