I am buying a xp from Ernie and I'm going to have Txbrass cerakote it. Can y'all post up some pics of your cerakoted xps to help me decide on the color combination I want. Thanks

Congrats on picking up one of Ernie's XP's. Txbrass/Cody does a top notch job on cerakote. I would have him do your XP in the colors he did his new Cyclops. That looked sharp and great colors for hunting.

Yea his work is as good as I've seen. I looked at some he has done on his website and found what I like I just wanted to see some different ideas

What did you wind up getting?

I am buying Ernie's 308 and I will post pics when I get the cerakote done

The Cyclops pictures are under the bolt action here on SP.

The cyclops is actually the one on his website I liked the most

Well, the barrel and action of this XP was painted w/ Brownell's Alumahyde II (matte OD green), not Cerakote, but I thought I'd share it anyway. The stock was painted w/ various Krylon and Rustoleum camo paints. Remington XP-100 in 7-08.

Gary T, that is a very nice set up and coatings. Is there a stencil for the digital pattern on the stock? I really like that pattern. I was thinking of doing one of my Encores in a color like that and the same pattern on my stock.

Thanks for the kind words. I bought my digital stencil pattern from Bulldog Arms. Unfortunately, the website now says their stencils are available only from Brownell's. Brownell's only carries one pattern (it's not the digital) and it's out of stock. I recently bought some new stencils from Black Jax Camo, but haven't used them yet. The stencil look to be good quality. The stencils I used in the above pic were "male" type. The new ones are "female" type. I was disappointed that I had some chipping of the paint on the 7-08 stock. I think I applied too many coats of paint. I applied multiple coats of each color to the entire stock. If I use the male type again, I'll apply the paint only in the spots where I'll apply the stencils. After 3 seasons of hunting, the paint job otherwise held up pretty well. I touched up some small spots of wear on the barrel a few weeks ago w/ the Alumahyde II.
