Picked up another XP, like I don't have enough I can't shoot now, but it looked interesting. Can someone ID the trigger for me?

Don't know the brand of trigger but that is a fantastic stock and XP. You must have every XP that is in Arkansas. What caliber is it. I like the shape of the grip. Good catch.

I'm the only one in this neck of the woods with XP's, get lots of looks and questions when I used to get to go to the range, usually from the older fellas that were there. I kinda bought a pig in a poke, but it looks way better than the pics the seller had showed it to be and the builder was very meticulous. It's very slim, almost petite,like lady's gun. As for the caliber 17 Sumpin? now, as it's unmarked. The seller said it was a 17 Match, based on a 221 Fireball, so after some research on Saubier.com I deduced it might be a 17 Mach IV Match. But my 17 Fireball Go gauge drops right in, and even with 3-4 layers of tape on the head, I get no resistance closing the bolt. A sized 221 Fireball case would not chamber with the neck cut completely off, so I started shortening the neck on a 20VT case till I got a nice fit, still had a little neck on it, which measured the exact same OAL length the specs show a 17 fireball to be at the shoulder neck junction. After all that, I believe it may be either an some improved version of the 17 Mach IV or 17 Fireball. I have to get some 17 Fireball brass or a 17 neck die, (I have over 1000 rds of 221 brass) and seat some bullets out to touch the lands and fireform some brass and maybe I can tell more about it. Spent all night tinkering with it, anxious now to get it figured out. It has an unusual bipod on it marked Griffin. Anyone have any idea what caliber it might be, I would entertain some guesses.

Nice, I can see why you added that one to the collection. Did the seller have reloading dies for it?

The shilen triggers I've seen were stamped Shilen on the body of the trigger. Not saying it isn' though.

Burns? Looks similar to the one on my Hall ppc.Very interesting XP,I wonder if a chamber cast would help solve this 17caliber mystery,depending what it is,you could reload for it or have it rechambered to a 17 Javelina or maybe a 17-222
