So my first xp build is finished and it returned home today. If the weather cooperates I’ll put it to work on some steel tomorrow. The experience was pretty painless. I think the most stressful part was trying to decide what caliber. In the end I just kept it the same caliber it was. Everyone needs a 223.
I talked to Mike Abel from Rogue Precision Gunworks or 40xmike here on the forums. I ordered a barrel from Lilja. Then since Ernie was so nice to get a group buy going on mcmillian stocks I ordered one of those too.
Fast forward 8 months from the start of the process and it’s home and looks good. If it shoots half as good as it looks I’ll be very happy. Mike was a great guy to deal with and was patient with all the questions I had. I’ll let you know how it shoots after the weekend.

The contour is liljas xphtr. It is 1.2 inches for 3inches then straight taper to 1 inch. The base is an egw hd.

Mike built it, it'll shoot! I have a couple barrels with that contour. I like it.

I will back what Aaron says. I have several guns built by Mike ranging from 20 Vartarg to 7saum. All shoot under 1/2” @100. I have another in process now and will be sending components for another soon.
