XPjeffMcGowan got my xp done!
Got it back today.
221 fireball
12" fluted barrel , sort of a medium contour.
It was contoured in order to fit the stock.
Target crown
Reblued the action
Fit the new barrel into the stock
And a new bedding job.
Barrel reads "221 Fireball (12) McGowan Precision Barrels"
Pretty happy with how it turned out!
Im contemplating on wether or not to add a forend tip to the stock since I am going to refinish the stock also.

junebugA nice piece of tiger stripe maple or something like myrtle wood would look real nice on there. I have a stock .221 fireball, fun and accurate gun to shoot.

XPjeffThanks for the comments!
Got a scope put on today. Used a little bit of everyones stuff here. Leupold 2-8 and a Burris extended mount along with some old Redfield rings I had lying around. The scope and base were both from fellow forum members here...thanks again guys!

XPjeffWell we had some nice weather here tbis weekend and I was able to take it out , sight it in , and do some shooting. I had a pretty good supply of loads made up with Hornady 40 grain ballistic tips so I used them. I didn't set up the chrony since I was just looking to get it sighted in and see what I'd get for an initial grouping.
I can't say I'm "practiced up" shooting XP's anymore since it's been quite a while. So I was a little shakey on the sand bags! Still Im pretty pleased that I was able to repeatedly put 1.5" groups on the target. The ammo was not tailored for the pistol and I only tried one load. Im sure with some load work and more shooting I'll be able to bring the groups down a touch.

NitemannGreat set up!!!
Not sure what powder your using in the FB but if it's not AA1680 get some. Works great in all my FB's with the 40 to 50 gr bullets.
