Wouldn't two flats on the receiver end work better? Seems there would be less chance of effecting the harmonics there.

I believe one would have to use a anti thread galling grease on the barrel and reciver threads, other wise the threading would ware and the return to zero function would be lost along with a loss of accuracy. A copper based anti galling grease like used on engine spark plugs. I used this grease on AR15's for barrel replacement. Works great, but is kind of pricey. One can purchase this grease at auto parts stores.

BTW. I add that I've used that anti galling grease on the threads of striker bolt shrouds cocking threadso and the bolts lugs in bolt action guns. I used to use Shooters Choice gun grease, which is a high pressure engine assembly grease, but that would smear off the lugs so it would have to be wiped out and reapplied. With the anti galling grease it seems to stay in place. I've never had a build up, but if it does, just use a good copper solvent to remove any copper build up.
