Ladies and gentlemen, the new faux carbon fiber benchrest stock striker.



Others in progress are a laminated hunter, a modded Striker stock in predator camo, a NICE maple with ebony tips, and another modded Striker with panzer camo, and one so wierd, I'm not even going to talk about it yet.

OK, started life as a OEM stock.

First, I cut off the bottom of the foreend and added a piece of 3 1/2" wide birch plywood. Screwed and epoxied in place. Very stiff and sealed.

Used wood epoxy putty and blended in.

Took both the belt sander and the dremel sander and ground away for great finger grooves and a little thumb shelf.

Sealed it with epoxy black satin paint and sanded until smooth. Many coats of satin black.

Technique calls for using some Wally World rubber perforated shelf liner. Tape as flat as you can. Spray base coat of graphite gray. Let dry and come back with some silver for highligts. Remove, mask and move one.

Saw how on youtube. I understand there is a hydrographics dip kit. Don't know.

Do to all the curves, you get some better coats than others. Gives it that shimmer look.

Get all done and coat with gloss clear, about 4 times for a real gloss final.

Look for it in a future pistol pack with 2 stock (this one and a custom maple with ebony tips), 3 barrels, action, scope and rings and a carrying case.
