Dug out one of the older XP's that I have sitting around and find out that it has been re-barreled to .221 x 35. Anybody have any info on that cartridge? Any dies out there? Been wanting another 222RM, this may be a good candidate if nothing else. Thanx in advance, Indianamoon

Basically a rimmed fireball? There are several out there that were made from 38SW all the way through 357 maximum. --------------------------------- G whiz, it's a Contender or a G2, never was a G One!

The general consensus is that this is a .221 blown out to a 35 degree shoulder. Loaded up 50 rounds last nite and will take them out for fire forming. Hopefully won't split too many. If I do some annealing is in order. Loaded up a dummy round and it chambered and extracted fine.

Basically a 221 ackley improved then i'm guessing? You may want to seat the bullets out so that they engage the rifling to keep from having a head space issue. Depending on the chamber it may be fine if you have some resistance closing the bolt. If not you may get head separations forming the brass. ![]() Rick
