I like some other members am fortunate enough to have all the S.P.'s I can ever shoot or need. But we all know "Need" has absolutely nothing to with it. So, that being said , who is thinking about an XP build in the new 6.8 Western cartridge? Anyone have any thoughts as to why this cartridge would be fantastic in an XP or why it would just be another "Flavor of the Month" fad?

Meh, its pretty much a 270saum. Some new 270 bullets might come from it but thats gotta be the best part.

I do like the ide of new bullets in .277, but I have a feeling most will be heavier "high BC" geared bullets that won't work well in standard twist barrels.

From what I have read you are correct. The new bullets will only work with the very fast twist this cartridge was designed for.

A lot of shooters just have to have the newest military caliber. Not that it's that much better, but if the military has it, it must be great.

The only caliber I want now is a 6BR. Not sure yet when that will happen.
