What’s the best way to build a bolt action pistol? If I buy a new 700 action with no stock or barrel can I legally build a pistol with that action? I plan on building it “remage “ style so I can switch barrels. Thanks sirs.

First it depends on if you want a center grip or rear grip. If you start with an XP-100 you can go anyway you want as far as barrel length. If you buy an undesignated action then you can build it the way you want and barrel length is not a legal factor. If you are trying to build from a rifle designated action then there are legal issues with barrel length. The easiest way is to start with an XP-100. May not be as easy to find but makes the build easier. Many ways to go. Maybe some of the smiths on this board could chime in on the legalities. In short. You can do whatever you want with a non designated action. A non designated action is basically a new in the box naked action.

That’s the answers I was looking for sirs. Thanks.

Do they make a center grip pistol stock for a 700 action ? Is that the stock that’s on the group buy?

Brad (Gator T/C) is the only one that I know of that has done a center grip on a 700 action. http://specialtypistols.infopo...670053786#5670053786 Jon
