I’m new here. I bought my second xp 100 in .221 Fireball today. What I’m looking for is.....prepare for a long story..... Quite a few years ago I bought a laminated wood stock for my xp223 from,I’m pretty sure,Midway USA. I’ve searched the forum’s and checked the stock makers I’ve found but they don’t have quite the look I’m after. I had to do a fair amount of fitting and of course finishing to my first stock. Does anyone remember these replacements from long ago and maybe get me started looking in the right direction? I’ve thought about emailing Midway and asking them if they had one deep in a recess in the warehouse in the dead and surplus section. The last time I tried to communicate with midways customer service was way less than stellar...rude?... Any help appreciated Bill

Might have been a fajen. I'd look up Jim Rockwell. He's making a laminated centergrip XP stock at a reasonable price. Aaron

I sent pictures and emails and haven’t heard. Busy time of year! I have another question. I picked up my new to me Xperia-100 .221Fireball. I discovered that it’s missing the trigger balance spring and weight assembly. How Critical is this assembly? Is there an advantage or disadvantage to not having it? Thanks for any advise. Bill Wright I did reply to your email on December 10th James Rockwell Tue, Dec 10, 11:53 AM (8 days ago) to Bill Your saying you want a stock similar to the one in the picture? Do you know what color you want? I believe that stock is from Remingtons Custom Shop. I can make tou one similar. If you want a laminate the price would be about $300.00 fully inlet ready for bedding. Sanded to 220 grit. If you want one like that in hardwood the price would be $375 to $400. Plus shipping (about $25.00) Any more question feel free to ask. Thank You. Jim Rockwell 810-845-4543

I removed the trigger balance from my XPs over 30 years ago, they function just fine. Usually the trigger pull improves. The assembly was a safety device, not needed if you practice good gun handling. . . “The 30-06 is the world's most over-rated big game cartridge" - Elmer Keith

Very nice stocks Jim! Is it possible to get one made for a center grip XP made with a Rem 700 receiver?

Mr Jim how are those center grip 700 stocks coming along?
|
I ordered a center grip from Jim and mailed a check on Jan, 21, 2020. Jim was in the process of moving to Florida but felt he could get the stock done. About a 5-6 weeks ago I called for and update and his shop wasn't setup yet but he said he'd get it to me before April. My check hadn't been cash and he said he didn't cash them until shipped. March 20th my check was cashed and Jim has not responded to call or text. Hopefully he's OK.

Sieg your stock will be in the mail early next week. I have went througg my voicemails and call log and haven't seen any recent calls from you. Anyhow sorry it took me so long to get back up and running. It took me longer than I expected to find a shop. The place I originally had in mind didn't pan out. Jim

Jim, I'm just very glad to hear you're OK! Considering what we're all facing right now the stock is certainly not a priority. I'm patient and understanding, take care of your immediate priorities. Sieg

Glad to hear things are back in production . Looking forward to getting my stock from Jim putting together a switch barrel 6.5x47 AI and a 6x47 Lapua . Jim W

Jim emailed a tracking number today! I can't wait to get the XP100 Varmint Special .223 action bedded and mount the Harris bipod. Looking forward to working up some loads and shooting some sage rats. Hopefully the Nosler 53g Varmageddon and Berger 52g Varmint bullets I bought in advance will produce a winning load. I'll post progress pictures. ![]()

I like the idea of a Remington 700 action center grip pistol but where do you get trigger assembly to make this work ??
|
![]() |
The trigger from a xp-100 works just fine in the Model 7, the short action and the long action. You just have to “extend” the linkage. The safety works for all of these actions as well. I am struggling with modifications to xp-100 safety for the Remington left hand actions right now.
