I recently picked up a Lone Eagle in 243. It seems to be accurate, but, it seems to have an extra long chamber. Would it be possible to rechamber to 243AI?

Extra long in what dimension? Normally an Ackley chamber is .003-004" shorter than a standard chamber to get a crush fit for fireforming brass. You could probably rechamber to something longer like a 6-284.

You want to leave the chamber long. Best I can remember, if you get it real tight breech wont open gets jammed.

Had one in 30-06 fun gun.
